When we started this blog it was about half First Law related posts, and half posts full of mad science, crazy robots, and random musings on how we’re all living in a science fiction novel but haven’t realized it yet. I guess we’ve had a lot more First Law news to report on lately, which is definitely a good thing, but I miss the mad science!

Oliver came up to New York last weekend and we shot a bunch of footage for the next Kickstarter video. We’ll be launching the campaign to help pay for Issue #2 as soon as the video is edited and all of the Issue #1 rewards get sent out. We’ve got some really fun new rewards planned, so stay tuned to find out how you can help.
We also worked up a short 6-page story that we’ll probably be submitting to comics anthologies once we get it illustrated. It’s an entertaining little story, unrelated to First Law, and should be a fun side-project while Issue #2 production rolls along. More details to come.
Also, as much as I worry about this blog ending up filled with YouTube videos from scary video-games, this one is hilarious; I think I made Oliver watch it four or five times while he was here.
The game being played is Amnesia: The Dark Descent, and yes it really is that scary. I played through it last week and it might have made me pee myself, just a little.
Mike and I love robots. Pretty safe to say. And after checking out our amazing cover artist Jamie Noguchi’s incredi-blog Angry Zen Master, our lives were complete. Thanks to Jamie for sharing this clip of the greatest robot movie ever made! … !
Armed with only our comic, some props, and a flipcam, Mike and I set forth to get our comic to readers at the 2010 New York Comic Con. It was an amazing experience. Talking to readers and seeing them get excited by the idea of our comic was incredible. We are honored that people even stopped to hear our pitch. Thank you so much to everyone we met at the NYCC. We hope that you enjoy the book and stick with us for issue 2 and beyond!
