Good Press For Issue #1!

Over at Broken Frontier, Steven Surman just posted a very positive review of First Law #1.  We are so thrilled that people are enjoying the comic!  More motivation to get cracking on issue #2!

In related news, I’ve just set up a new page on the site, highlighting the press we’ve received so far.  Go check it out to see what other people are saying about First Law.

We’re so glad for any press we can get.  When things calm down a bit on other fronts, we’re going to more actively pursue the comics blogosphere, and push some review copies.  In the meantime, if you’re a journalist and would like a complimentary copy of issue #1, please get in touch with us.

The Plan – Outlining Our Time-Frame For Issue #1

We just created a new page on the site, where you can check out our current time-frame for issue #1, and see where we are in the production process.  Go take a look to find out how First Law Of Mad Science #1 is coming along, and when we think it will be available.

There are a lot of variables in the process, and we have a lot of choices to make going forward, so keep in mind that this plan might change.  I’m getting tired, though, of answering the simple question, “When will it be available?” with answers that start out, “Well, we’re hoping…” or, “Well, it depends on…” or, “Well, we have a couple of options…”

The road ahead is still just as murky as it was before, but I felt we needed some clarity.  This isn’t vaporware; we’re not yanking your chain; First Law will be released, one way or another, and we need to communicate just how and when we expect that to happen.  From now on, whatever is on that page at any given point should represent our most current thinking regarding when and how you’ll be able to read First Law.

The plan might change, but rest assured we will tell you if it does.  First Law Of Mad Science is on its way.  Stay tuned.

Q&A – First Law Facebook Discussion Board

Over on the First Law Facebook page, there’s a discussion board that was looking very lonely and empty and sad.  So I’ve started a thread inviting everyone to ask us questions about the comic.  Ideally this will give us material for an FAQ here on the website.*

If you’ve got any questions, please head on over there and ask away!  (Or just ask in the comments section of this post if you’re not into the whole Facebook thing.)  Feel free to ask anything at all: you can ask about the story itself, the creative process, the publishing process, our favorite foods, whatever.  We’ll tell you everything you want to know, short of spoiling future issues.

*(Yes, I suppose we could create an FAQ without actually having received any questions.  But that feels dishonest; we’d have to call it something like Questions We Think People Might Eventually Want To Ask Us, or QWTPMEWTA.  Much less catchy.)

Hello world!

Hey, what do you know?  We’ve got a website!

I’m learning to use WordPress as I go, so please forgive a bit of roughness as we get things sorted out.  In the next few days, expect to see this place start looking a little snazzier and a bit less haphazardly-thrown-together.  We’ll also be posting a seven-page teaser from Issue #1, as soon as I figure out the best way to post it, so stay tuned!

In the meantime, here’s a short list of the other places you can find us on the web:

  • Facebook
  • Twitter (new!)
  • Kickstarter (the fundraising campaign is over, but if you haven’t seen the snappy video, go check it out!)

Thanks for dropping by!  Stay tuned; we’ve got more just around the corner!
